Your roots can feel oily while the ends feel dry. Your hair can be naturally wavy, coloured and fine at the same time. A useful haircare shortlist needs room for all of those details.
Choose Build my haircare routine on the Flawless Body homepage. The finder asks about your goals, natural texture, how your hair feels, its history and your scalp before you choose your routine pace and budget.
Which goal should you choose?
The options include strength and repair, softness and moisture, smoothness, curl definition, brighter colour and fuller-looking hair. You can select more than one where the screen allows it.
Start with the things that actually bother you between washes. For example, “my lengths feel dry and I want my waves to keep their shape” is a more useful starting point than wanting every possible benefit from every product.
Use the additional-text option when the choices do not describe the situation clearly enough.
Should you answer for your natural or styled texture?
The texture question asks for your natural texture. Choose straight, wavy, curly or coily according to the hair you are working with, rather than the shape you create with straighteners or tongs.
You can then use the separate hair-history question to describe styling or processing. Keeping those answers distinct gives a clearer picture than calling naturally curly hair “straight” because you straighten it most mornings.
What does the density step mean?
The screen asks how your hair usually feels, with fine, medium and thick/coarse options. Read the descriptions under those labels. They explain the sort of strands and product feel the question is trying to capture.
Fine strands and a lot of hair can occur together. If the options leave out a detail that matters, explain it in Something else instead of choosing a label that feels wrong.
Why mention colour and heat styling?
The hair-history question includes natural or minimally processed hair, colour-treated hair, lightening or highlights, and frequent heat styling. Choose the closest match and add context if needed.
Think about your usual pattern over time. One special-occasion blow-dry is different from using hot tools regularly; an old colour service is different from repeated lightening. Describe the routine your products need to fit.
How should you answer the scalp question?
Consider the scalp separately from the lengths. Use the screen's balanced, oily, dry/tight or sensitive/flaky descriptions to explain how it feels.
A rich-feeling product you enjoy on the ends does not automatically belong on the scalp. When you receive the shortlist, open each product page and check exactly where it should be applied.
Which routine pace should you choose?
- Beautiful basics: begin with wash-day essentials.
- Complete ritual: explore a wash, treat and finish approach.
- Signature routine: consider a more involved routine if you want those extra steps.
Choose around the time you want to spend. More steps are only useful if they have a clear role in the routine you intend to follow.
What should you do with the shortlist?
Check the shampoo, conditioning and treatment roles, compare them with your existing products, then select only what you need. Optional extras can stay unselected. The matches are based on catalogue information and have not been individually clinically reviewed.
Save your selection using Email my routine or Print / save PDF, and recheck product directions before use. Our budget and optional-extras guide explains how to keep the final selection manageable.
