A scalp concentrate can look very much like a hair serum. Both come in small bottles, both sound targeted, and both are easy to apply in the wrong place.
The first thing to know about Kérastase Chronologiste Longevity Potion 30ml is that it is intended for the scalp and roots. It is one of our recent additions, designed for hair and scalp concerns associated with ageing.
What does Longevity Potion do?
Kérastase positions this leave-in concentrate around scalp vitality and fuller-looking hair. Its formula includes Pro-Xylane and an algae-derived ingredient. The practical distinction is where you use it: this is a targeted scalp step within your haircare routine.
When you are choosing, separate what you notice at the roots from what you notice through the ends. You may want scalp care while also needing a conditioner for dry lengths. Those are different tasks, so one bottle should not be expected to do everything.
How do you use the pipette?
- Use after washing. Begin with a towel-dried scalp and roots.
- Shake well. Prepare the bottle before measuring.
- Apply five doses in total, section by section. Kérastase defines one dose as one pipette filled to the mark.
- Leave it in. Do not rinse the concentrate out.
The brand describes use over a one-month period. Follow your pack for frequency and any individual advice you have been given. Five doses means the total application, rather than five full pipettes for every section.
Why does sectioning matter?
It gives you a more orderly way to work across the intended application area. Part the hair, apply carefully and move to the next area. Without a method, it is easy to empty most of the measured amount into the first place you reach.
Keep the pipette markings as your guide. More product is not a substitute for following the routine consistently, and free-pouring makes it much harder to know how much you have used.
Does it replace a conditioner or mask?
Keep your lengths' care as a separate decision. A scalp application and a rinse-out conditioning step have different instructions. Continue to choose the latter around how your lengths feel and how easily they detangle.
