When you are looking for a brighter, more even-looking complexion, it is easy to keep adding another targeted bottle. A better first question is where a new product belongs among the steps you already use.
Obagi SuzanObagiMD Claribright Radiance Brightening Lotion 50ml is a recent addition to Flawless Body. It is a hydroquinone-free brightening lotion, so begin by understanding its role and instructions before deciding how to fit it into your day.
What is Claribright designed for?
Obagi describes it as a lotion for improving the appearance of skin brightness and uneven tone. The formula includes tranexamic acid, phloretin, oligopeptide-68 and silymarin.
Those details help explain the product's focus, but an ingredient list does not tell you that every product you already own should be layered with it. Look at your routine as a whole and check the directions for each step.
How do you apply it?
The manufacturer's guidance is to apply morning and evening to clean, dry skin, or after serum application. Massage two to three pumps over the face and neck, with an additional pump for the chest.
Obagi also advises daily sunscreen with at least SPF30. Follow the sunscreen's own application and reapplication instructions, rather than treating one morning application as a guarantee for the whole day.
Keep the pack directions where you can refer to them during the first few uses. It is easier to form a consistent habit when the amount and placement are clear.
Should you change the rest of your routine at the same time?
Give every change a purpose. Before adding Claribright, write down what you already use in the morning and evening. Identify which products have similar aims and which are your basic cleansing, moisturising and sun-protection steps.
A long list is not necessarily a better plan. If you cannot explain why two overlapping products are in the same routine, pause before adding both. Keep a note of any changes so you can tell what you have introduced.
What should sensitive-skin shoppers check?
Read the full ingredient list and your pack's precautions. “Hydroquinone-free” describes the formula; it does not mean that no individual could react to it.
Obagi advises stopping use and seeking medical advice if a rash or irritation develops and persists. If you are using prescribed skincare, ask the prescribing clinician before changing that routine. A product guide should never be used to decide when to stop or replace a prescription.
How should you assess your progress?
Begin with a clear idea of what you want to observe, rather than checking for a completely different complexion every morning. If you choose to take progress photographs, use comparable lighting and keep the rest of your routine in view when judging the result.
People respond differently. Use the product as directed and avoid increasing the amount simply because you would like a faster change.
